Field Techniques of Vertebrate Paleontology — Canceled

This summer 2025 study tour has been canceled.

Field Techniques of Vertebrate Paleontology in Montana is an exciting three-week experience that includes one week of instruction on campus and two weeks in the badlands of Montana.

Students will learn the skills of collecting dinosaur bones — such as Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops — and other fossils from seasoned paleontologists.

The course includes hiking, discovering new bones, and working on sites in progress. This is a science lab course for students of all majors and it has no prerequisites aside from a passion for dinosaurs!

Carthage students have the opportunity to study field techniques of vertebrate paleontology in Montana in summer for J-Term.
